The ElecÂtions and BoundÂaries ComÂmisÂsion (EBC) has conÂfirmed that more than 3,000 speÂcial elecÂtors have so far cast their votes. SpeÂcial votÂing beÂgan on MonÂday, and the EBC is exÂpectÂing 16,748 inÂdiÂvidÂuÂals to parÂticÂiÂpate in the process.
AcÂcordÂing to a stateÂment from the EBC on MonÂday, “SpeÂcial ElecÂtors are reÂmindÂed that their votÂing proÂceÂdure difÂfers from the stanÂdard process and may reÂquire adÂdiÂtionÂal time. As a reÂsult, longer-than-usuÂal wait times were obÂserved toÂday at some loÂcaÂtions.”
The EBC alÂso notÂed that over 1,400 inÂdiÂvidÂuÂals parÂticÂiÂpatÂed on the openÂing day, with the highÂest turnout recordÂed in the marÂginÂal conÂstituenÂcy of Aranguez/St Joseph. EBC’s Chief ElecÂtion OfÂfiÂcer Fern NarÂcis told Guardian MeÂdia 1,500 speÂcial elecÂtors parÂticÂiÂpatÂed on day two yesÂterÂday.
