A new electric utility cart for the Barbados Postal Service marks the first tangible step in a planned overhaul of the agencyâs vehicle fleet, as the government pushes towards its 2030 carbon-neutral target and a broader transformation of postal logistics.
The cart was officially handed over to the postal service on Monday during a ceremony at the General Post Office in Bridgetown. It is to be deployed at the Grantley Adams International Airportâs airmail facility.
Minister of Home Affairs Gregory Nicholls declared that the acquisition was about far more than adding a single vehicle to the fleet:
