THE EDITOR, Madam:There have been only two towering legendary personalities in the world of cricket. One was Sir Donald George Bradman of Australia and the other of course Sir Garfield St Aubrun Sobers, son of Barbados, who played for the West Indies. Sir Garfield just completed his innings of life and has left thousands of admirers all over the world to mourn his passing. Garry Sobers was the all-time great all-rounder. While playing for Nottinghamshire he hit six consecutive sixers in a single over on August 31, 1968 to become the first batsman to achieve this historic feat. He had a triple test century (365) to his credit as well. The world of cricket has lost its precious gem. on behalf of the numerous Indian cricket lovers, I would like bid adieu to Sir Garfield whose image as a cricketer will always be larger than life.
