For more than a decade, Jamaican dancehall artiste Kranium has built a reputation as one of the genre’s most relatable storytellers, transforming everyday experiences into records that resonate far beyond the Caribbean. Through his recently released EP A Slight Delay and his latest single Girl Trip on the popular Hill & Gully rhythm, Kranium continues that tradition by exploring two very different, yet equally familiar sides of modern life.
Released in April, A Slight Delay offers listeners a deeper look into Kranium’s personal and professional journey. Led by the reflective single Daily Bread, the project touches on themes of ambition, perseverance, responsibility, faith, and the realities of navigating success.
“Daily Bread is just a reflection of what most people are dealing with right now,” Kranium told the Jamaica Observer. “The cost of living keeps going up, and everybody is focused on getting their money, staying afloat, and taking care of their responsibilities. It’s a feel-good record, but the message is real — we all need money, and we’re all out here working for our daily bread.”
