A CHAGUANAS woman has been found guilty and sentenced for her role in an armed robbery plot in which a vehicle was stolen at gunpoint during a supposed test drive at Price Plaza, Chaguanas.
The convicted woman, Kalisa “Cookie” Benito, will serve just short of five years behind bars, after being convicted by a jury following a trial before Justice Lisa Ramsumair-Hinds. She was sentenced on Monday to various terms on four separate offences; however, given that the sentences are to run concurrently, Benito will only serve the highest term of four years and eight months.
She was found guilty of robbery with aggravation, assault with intent to rob, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition. She was acquitted on two counts of shooting with intent.
