More than one in three children in Trinidad and Tobago are growing up in multidimensional poverty.

That is according to a new report that Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services Vandana Mohit described as “an unfil­tered look at the lived realities of far too many of our children”.

The findings, presented last week at the launch of the Multi-Dimensional Child Poverty Report, show that 35.7% of children face deprivation in at least two areas of well-being, including education, nutrition, water, sanitation, health and housing.
