More than one in three children in Trinidad and Tobago are growing up in multidimensional poverty.
That is according to a new report that Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services Vandana Mohit described as “an unfiltered look at the lived realities of far too many of our children”.
The findings, presented last week at the launch of the Multi-Dimensional Child Poverty Report, show that 35.7% of children face deprivation in at least two areas of well-being, including education, nutrition, water, sanitation, health and housing.
