Political Leader of the Innovative Democratic Alliance (IDA), Dr Denise Tsoiafatt Angus has confirmed that the party is in the process of changing its potential candidate for Belle Garden/Glamorgan, after its previously announced candidate, Tevin Duke, was sentenced to three months and 24 days in prison.
Dr Tsoiafatt Angus told Guardian Media that the situation is unfortunate and that as soon as the party was made aware of it, it began taking steps to change the potential candidate for the area.
According to the TTPS media release, Duke, 30, a Tobago farmer of Belle Garden, received the sentence after he admitted to breaching a protection order for the third time.
