(Kaieteur News) – Captain Learie Barclay was on Monday re-elected President of the Aviation Operators’ Association of Guyana (AOAG), alongside Captain Andre Farinha as 1st Vice President and Lt. Col. Miguel Benjamin as 2nd Vice President. Captain Ronald Reece and Lt. Col. (Ret’d) Anthony Mekdeci, AA, were elected as Directors.
The election of the Board of Directors was done at the association’s Annual General Meeting.
In his official report to the Association, Barclay reflected on the growing standing of the AOAG, describing it as a “professional and respectful channel” through which operators’ concerns reach aviation policymakers. While acknowledging that not every recommendation has been accepted or every concern resolved, he stressed that the industry is “no longer absent from the conversation.”
