Construction worker arrested for murder of Parfaite Harmonie teen

(Kaieteur News) – The thirty-nine-year-old suspect who reportedly fatally stabbed 17-year-old Akeem Bannister, called “Boy”, of La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, is now in police custody.

Police said the suspect also of Westminster, was handed over by his legal representatives at the La Parfaite Harmonie Police Station on Monday 19th October, 2026, about 10:50hrs, where he was arrested.

It was reported that on Sunday 18th October, 2026, between 15:30hrs and 15:55hrs, in the vicinity of a supermarket at Westminster, the suspect reportedly fatally stabbed Bannister and injured a 26-year-old man.
