…as OECD upgrades country’s risk classification for creditworthiness
Guyana’s economic strength and sound fiscal management continue to drive global confidence in the country’s creditworthiness, Senior Minister with Responsibility for Finance Dr Ashni Singh has noted that the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) upgraded Guyana’s country risk classification from Five to Four, effective from October 16, 2026. This positive development is reflected in the OECD’s most recent Country Risk Classifications of the Participants to the Arrangement on Officially Supported Export Credits.
The country risk classifications measure a country’s credit risk and the likelihood that the country will service its external debt.
