(Reuters) – The death toll Venezuela’s twin earthquakes last week has risen to 2,645, the nation’s information ministry said on Friday.
More than 12,000 were wounded and some 15,000 left homeless by the disaster, the ministry said.
Interim President Delcy Rodriguez on Thursday rejected allegations that her government reacted too slowly to destruction caused by two earthquakes which killed more than 2,000 people, after days of widespread criticism of the official response.
