Attempted murder-suicide in Signal Hil

A To­ba­go man is dead af­ter al­leged­ly chop­ping a woman on her neck dur­ing a do­mes­tic dis­pute at Men­tor Dri­ve, Sig­nal Hill, on Wednes­day morn­ing. Neigh­bours say the vic­tim was chopped on her neck dur­ing a do­mes­tic in­ci­dent around 7.30 am.

The woman, bleed­ing pro­fuse­ly, fled home and sought refuge at a neigh­bour. She was tak­en to the near­by Scar­bor­ough Hos­pi­tal where she re­mains in se­ri­ous con­di­tion.

Smoke was lat­er seen com­ing from the home as the per­pe­tra­tor, Steve Paul, al­leged­ly set their home on fire. He died at the scene. Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent.
