The Government has launched a new patient feedback system aimed at improving accountability and service delivery across Guyana’s public healthcare sector, just hours after President Dr Irfaan Ali announced plans for the initiative during the commissioning of the $230 million Regional Medical Distribution Centre at Onderneeming, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Saturday, President Ali said the Government would introduce a patient feedback portal linked to the national pharmaceutical supply chain, allowing patients to report their experiences in accessing medication. He explained that information submitted through the system would be transmitted directly through the accountability chain to the Minister of Health.
“That is the level of accountability we’re building in the system,” President Ali said. Later on Saturday, the President announced on his social media page that the Patient Feedback System had been introduced as part of the Government’s efforts to continuously improve the quality, accessibility and efficiency of healthcare services.
