A 55-year-old woman was overpowered by bandits and pistol-whipped with her own pistol at her Tunapuna home on Wednesday night.
Police said the woman arrived at her Tunapuna Road, home at around 11 pm and was walking up the staircase when she noticed two men walking behind her.
She reached for her licensed Glock 43 pistol in her handbag and fired a shot in the direction of the men but missed.
