Police arrested two men and seized significant quantities of drugs and cash during anti-crime operations conducted under the state of emergency, authorities reported on Saturday.
In San Juan, officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force executed a search of a 40-year-old man’s home between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. The operation resulted in the seizure of 795.8 grammes of Molly, 229 grammes of methamphetamine, 2.2 grammes of ecstasy, and $1,566 in cash. The suspect was taken into custody in connection with the finds. The operation was led by ACP Hazel, Senior Supt. Ramnarine, Supt. Ramsook, and ASP Singh.
In a separate operation in the South Western Division, a 41-year-old man from Moruga was arrested after officers of the SWD Emergency Response Patrol stopped and searched a red Toyota Corolla in the Penal district around 11.50 a.m. The search uncovered seven packets of cannabis weighing a total of 1.82 kilogrammes.
