FIFA rebuffs Morocco claim over 2030 World Cup final

PARIS, France (AFP)—FIFA said on Friday that a decision on the venue for the 2030 World Cup final would be made “in due course”, after Moroccan football federation president Fouzi Lekjaa said the showpiece match would be staged in Morocco.
Morocco, Spain and Portugal are co-hosting the 2030 tournament and have already begun competing for the right to stage the final, with Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu and a planned 115,000-seat stadium in Benslimane, near Casablanca, viewed as the leading contenders.
Lekjaa said on Wednesday that the final would take place in Morocco.
