ENERGY Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal has raised concerns about a fiscal metering agreement for the Dragon gas project being executed in Spanish.
Speaking during the budget debate on Saturday, he said the Ministry of Energy has been unable to locate an executed English-language version of the agreement.
Moonilal said the document submitted to Cabinet in January 2024 was in Spanish and bore what he believes to be former energy minister Stuart Young’s signature. He said the Government now has to address weaknesses it had identified in the previous administration’s arrangements for the Venezuelan gas project.
