MINISTER of Labour and Social Security Pearnel Charles Jr on Wednesday joined family and well-wishers in celebrating Nellie Pearl Eulalee Pennycooke, affectionately known as Miss Nellie, on the occasion of her 103rd birthday.
Born on October 7, 1923 in Red Ground, Negril, Miss Nellie has lived a life marked by service, faith and devotion to family.
She joined Jamaica’s Postal Service at age 19 and served for decades, eventually becoming postmistress before retiring in 1983.
