Hundreds of residents in several Princes Town communities were left without electricity for almost 12 hours after high-voltage power cables were cut by vandals on Friday night, plunging neighbourhoods into darkness.
The outage affected residents across the Housing Development Corporation Fairfield Housing Development and surrounding areas such as Craignish, Indian Walk and New Grant, with many households still without power on Saturday morning as repair crews worked to restore the supply.
Repair crews worked through the night and into Saturday morning to reconnect the damaged cables and restore power to affected communities.
