World Bank team praises ‘Beryl’ recovery works

The World Bank on Tuesday expressed confidence in rebuilding the Bridgetown Fisheries Complex breakwater after Hurricane Beryl damage, while the government said a revised timetable for the remaining work should be ready for fisheries minister Santia Bradshaw by the end of the month.

Government officials and World Bank representatives conducted a joint site inspection of ongoing repairs to the fisheries breakwater and sugar berth damaged by Hurricane Beryl in 2024.

The deputy prime minister hosted the World Bank technical delegation to assess progress on the Beryl Emergency Recovery Project, supported through a multi-year loan agreement.
