The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, the Ministry of Culture and Community Development, and NAPA, hosted âUhuru: Celebrating Freedomâ to mark African Emancipation Day.
Through readings, music, dance, and theatre, the production honoured the resilience of African people and highlighted the enduring influence of African heritage on Trinidad and Tobagoâs identity.
Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, Hansen Narinesingh, said the celebration reminds us that âhistory is not simply a record of the past; it is a guide for the future.â
