WIN, AFC call for independent probe into sexual assault allegations against Karimbaksh

(Kaieteur News) – We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) Member of Parliament, Toshana Famey-Corlette has added her voice to the call for an independent probe into the allegations of sexual assault brought against Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fizal Karimbaksh.

Famey-Corlette in a statement post on her Facebook page on Tuesday stressed that the growing number of serious allegations and disciplinary concerns surrounding Karimbaksh can no longer be ignored.

“This is not about one allegation. It is about a pattern of complaints about the conduct of a senior officer who continues to hold one of the most powerful positions in the Guyana Police Force,” she said before naming several incidents in which the officer was accused of criminal misconduct.
