Having addressed serious issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, singjay Magran focuses on the Jamaican penal system with Jail House, his latest song. The self-produced single was released on September 1 by his MG Records.
Jail House gives a grim scenario about life behind bars. He looks at some of the challenges inmates face including solitary confinement, inhumane sanitary and living conditions and sub-standard meals.
“I was inspired to write this song upon learning about these confinement institutions, the poor conditions, insufficient food to feed prisoners, unsanitary conditions of rest rooms and the list goes on,” said Magran. “My song and video not only highlights these atrocities but encourages others to stay out of trouble to prevent the experience others have been through.”
