A career day at Portland-based Buff Bay High School on Wednesday drew strong student interest, with organisers deeming the event a success as pupils engaged enthusiastically with a range of vocational and professional pathways.
Held on the school grounds, students turned out in themed uniforms reflecting their chosen careers while showing particular interest in vocational areas such as barbering, electrical installation, woodwork, and sewing, as well as in theatre and the performing arts.
Verese Williams, guidance counsellor at Buff Bay High, said students have been especially enthused by opportunities in theatre and performance, which allow them to showcase their talents before an audience.
