(Kaieteur News) – As concerns mount over the proposed Kurupung uranium project in Guyana, Canada-based U92 Energy Corp. has been ramping up educational posts on social media to outline environmental management, safety and benefits of nuclear energy.
The Kurupung Uranium Project spans approximately 92.2 square kilometres in Region Seven and carries a historical resource estimate of 20.6 million pounds of uranium. U92 completed its acquisition of LIA Industries, a Singaporean firm, earlier this year, giving the Canadian company control of what is currently Guyana’s only known uranium project.
The Kurupung project is listed on U92’s website as its only project. In recent weeks the company has shared a series of Facebook posts explaining various aspects of the nuclear industry, from uranium mining waste management to the reliability and safety of nuclear power.
