Travellers and employees at Piarco International Airport have expressed concern over the proposed increase in parking fees, noting that the higher charges would add to the financial burden at a time when the cost of living continues to rise.
The new rate takes effect on November 1, increasing the daily parking fee from $63 to $95, an increase of $32, or approximately 50%. This means motorists parking at the airport for two full days will pay $190, compared with the current $126, an additional $64. The daily rate applies to parking stays of six hours or more, covering up to 24 hours.
