A Barrackpore man is recovering from a stab wound to the abdomen following a beachside altercation on Saturday evening.
Teemul Babwah, 45, of Teelucksingh Branch Trace, Rochard Douglas Road, was reportedly stabbed during an attempt to break up a verbal dispute between two men at Quinam Beach around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Babwah, who was in the company of a friend known only as "Craig" of Khanhai Trace, Barrackpore, told police that Craig became involved in a heated exchange with another man. When Babwah tried to intervene, a physical altercation ensued, during which the unknown man stabbed him in the left side of his abdomen.
