Reading at 2, CSEC in Grade 7 Kenya on amazing academic journey

By the time Kenya Gardener sat her first Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations in Grade Seven, she had already spent years moving ahead of the traditional academic timeline.

The Mount Alvernia High School student from Montego Bay, St James, began reading at just two years old, skipped a grade in primary school and subsequently sat the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examination earlier than usual.

This year, while in Grade Seven, she took two CSEC subjects, Social Studies and Principles of Business, and passed both, earning a Grade One distinction in Social Studies and a Grade Two in Principles of Business.
