No bail for man accused of desecrating Moruga church

Bail was de­nied to a 42-year-old man charged with sac­ri­lege fol­low­ing an in­ci­dent at a church in La Lune, Moru­ga.

The mat­ter was heard at the San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trates’ Court on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 1, where the ac­cused was not called up­on to plead. The mat­ter was ad­journed to March 23, 2027, for a sta­tus hear­ing.

In a state­ment is­sued yes­ter­day, the TTPS said that around 10.30 pm on Sun­day, Sep­tem­ber 27, po­lice re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that some­one had en­tered the La Lune Sev­enth-day Ad­ven­tist Church, lo­cat­ed at La Lune Road, Moru­ga.
