The Ministry of Defence is dismissing as false and misleading claims circulating on social media that Trinidad and Tobago’s Independence Day celebrations have been cancelled.
The Ministry says the information being shared is inaccurate and warns that such unverified claims can create unnecessary confusion and division at a time when the nation should be focused on unity, patriotism, and national pride.
Members of the public are being urged to rely only on official updates from authorised Government channels and to exercise caution when engaging with information shared online, particularly content that lacks verification or context.
