PM appeals to persons to sell land to the government for housing

In an effort to provide more housing solutions to the most vulnerable and needy, Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness, is calling on persons with land in developed areas to approach the Government for them to consider purchasing.

Holness made the appeal during his address at the handover of two-family housing units constructed under the New Social Housing Programme (NSHP) in the hilly community of Greendale district, Bull Bay, St Andrew East Rural, on Wednesday.

“[The] appeal is to people who are landowners who may not be using the land or they may have migrated and are not seeking to return to use the land, that they could, if they are so moved, make the land available to persons who would like to build on it,” Holness said.
