KestheBand made their debut on NPR Tiny Desk Concerts with a high-energy set recorded at NPR Music Headquarters in Washington, DC, as the series marks 18 years of showcasing global music. The performance featured a medley of reworked fan favourites and classics, includingĀ Hello,Ā Fallinā,Ā Rum and Coca Cola,Ā Jolene,Ā Cocoa Tea,Ā Wotless, andĀ SavannahĀ Grass. The songs flowed into each other in a continuous set that highlighted the bandās genre-blending sound and live arrangement style.
Lead vocalist of KestheBand,Ā Kees Dieffenthaller, reflects on the historic moment for the band, memorialising it as āa full-circle moment of fulfilmentā for the beloved Trinbagonian group. āPerforming at Tiny Desk is an incredible honour that weāve dreamed of for a very long time. This moment is a powerful reminder of how far Caribbean music can travel when it stays true to its roots. Dieffenthaller lauded the experience, which amassesĀ 20 million monthly viewers,Ā as a platform that values authenticity and musical storytelling. āWe are vessels of sound and song, and this moment is so much bigger than us: itās about our culture, our people, and our joyful connection we bring through music,ā he said.
