UK watchdog opens probe into Pornhub age checks

LONDON, United Kingdom (AFP) — Britain’s media regulator Ofcom on Wednesday opened an investigation into Pornhub’s parent company over concerns that children were potentially accessing the platform’s online pornography despite supposed age checks.
Ofcom will investigate whether the firm Aylo “has complied with its duties to prevent children from encountering pornographic content”, as stipulated by Britain’s online safety laws, a statement said.
Aylo, which is based in Montreal, Canada, blocked new users in Britain from accessing Pornhub, YouPorn and Redtube in February, citing the protection of minors.
