Mount Pleasant Football Academy picked up their first win in the 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup when they turned back reigning Jamaica Premier League champions Portmore United 1-0 on Wednesday night at the National Stadium.
Mt Pleasant captain Daniel Green scored the decider for the team, with a strike into an empty net in the 40th minute of the game.
Portmore were reduced to ten players in the 80th minute when goalkeeper Daviegh Payton was shown a straight red card after he was adjudged to have handled the ball outside the box and stopped a goalscoring opportunity for Warner Brown.
