Jamaican boxers make weight ahead of Caribbean showdown

GEORGETOWN, Guyana — Jamaicans Daniel Hylton and Toriano Nicholas have successfully made weight ahead of their respective bouts at the Caribbean Boxing Organization’s Caribbean Boxing Showdown 2.0.

According to a release, Hylton, a rising lightweight prospect, weighed 136.4 lbs, while his Guyanese opponent, Septon Barton, weighed 135.4 lbs. The bout, Hylton’s third as a professional, is scheduled as the opening contest of the card on Saturday, September 12, at 6:00 pm at the Clifford Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown.

Nicholas also made weight for his junior welterweight bout, tipping the scales at 137.8 lbs. His Guyanese opponent, Joel Williamson, weighed 138.4 lbs.
