Imagine years of studying, sacrificing sleep and balancing life’s demands to complete a Bachelor of Laws degree, only to graduate from law school and collect an empty canister.
That is the reality facing Denneil Chambers, whose dream of becoming an attorney-at-law remains on hold because of outstanding tuition fees.
“I had completed the academic requirements, but I still had one significant financial hurdle to overcome before I could take the next step towards becoming an attorney-at-law,” Chambers told THE STAR. With approximately $670,000 in outstanding tuition fees preventing him from obtaining the documents needed for admission to the Jamaican Bar, Chambers is appealing to Jamaicans for help after years of academic struggles, financial difficulties and personal sacrifices.
