The Trinidad and Tobago National Nursing Association (TTNNA) is calling for an independent investigation into the resignation of the South-West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) Board, warning that prolonged leadership uncertainty could undermine healthcare delivery and public confidence.
In a media release dated October 26, the association urged the Minister of Health to recommend suitably qualified persons for immediate appointment to the board and establish a transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the resignations.
The TTNNA described the development as unprecedented since the introduction of the Regional Health Authorities, arguing that it should not be treated as a routine administrative matter because of its implications for governance, accountability and oversight.
