HEAD of the Trinidad and Tobago National Nursing Association (TTNNA) Idi Stuart has called on Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to return to an image of being the nation's 'mother' following her recent statement that accused trade union leaders of supporting protesters whom she claims are calling for gangs to attack local law enforcement.
Stuart, who recently expressed concern over the Government decision to implement 'no-protest zones' amid public demonstrations, criticising the State's investigation into the police-involved killing of Joshua Samaroo, was responding to a statement from Persad- Bissessar on Saturday in which she stated union leaders, members of the Opposition, and entertainers as being supportive of protesters.
Attaching a clip purportedly depicting two figures calling for the unification of gangs at the site of a protest held last week, Persad-Bissessar called support for protesters 'appalling' and 'sickening', she called for union leadership and others to 'self reflect'.
