A SUSPENDED Special Reserve Police (SRP) officer and his co-accused were discharged of kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault charges after the State was unable to produce its key witness.
Akeem James, 39, of Fairfield Road, Princes Town, had been charged in 2019 and was granted bail in the sum of $200,000. Kevin Houlder was jointly charged in the matter.
The charges arose from allegations made by a 29-year-old Venezuelan national Eleanny Figueras, who claimed that James and Houlder had kidnapped and assaulted her.
