The InĀdusĀtriĀal Court has disĀmissed leĀgal acĀtion takĀen by Caribbean AirĀlines Ltd (CAL) against the T&T AirĀline PiĀlots AsĀsoĀciĀaĀtion (TTALĀPA) for alĀlegedĀly faĀcilĀiĀtatĀing a sick-out protest by piĀlots in 2023.
On ThursĀday, InĀdusĀtriĀal Court Judges Michelle Austin and AnĀdrew Stroude found that they did not have the juĀrisĀdicĀtion to hear CALās comĀplaint.
Austin, who deĀlivĀered the deĀciĀsion, ruled that CALās acĀtion unĀder SecĀtion 67(2) of the InĀdusĀtriĀal ReĀlaĀtions Act (IRA) should have been purĀsued as a sumĀmaĀry ofĀfence beĀfore a magĀisĀtrate inĀstead of as an inĀdusĀtriĀal reĀlaĀtions ofĀfence beĀfore the InĀdusĀtriĀal Court.
