A 30-year-old man from Charlieville is expected to appear before the South District Masters’ Court after police investigations revealed that a reported kidnapping was fabricated, resulting in the unnecessary deployment of significant police resources.
Between 11 am and 5 pm on Thursday, officers of the Central Division arrested Daoud Mohammed, 30, of Assaraf Road, Charlieville, Chaguanas, for the offence of Wasteful Employment of the Police.
Acting on intelligence, officers carried out surveillance along Assaraf Road, where Mohammed was arrested pursuant to a warrant issued in connection with the offence.
