(Kaieteur News) – More than a decade after he was wanted by police in connection with the killing of a male sex worker, Kanand Ojha was deported to Guyana. Ojha arrived in Guyana from the United States on Friday where he was placed in police custody and is expected to face the court for the 2015 killing of sex worker Noel “Nephi” Luther.
Ojha was reportedly arrested by law enforcement authorities in New York, USA on Monday.
According to a release from the Government of Guyana, “Law Enforcement Authorities in Queens, New York, including New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force consisting of US Marshals, members of Homeland Security and ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), on Monday, September 8, 2025 arrested Kanand Ojha who is wanted in Guyana in relation to the murder committed on Noel ‘Nephi’ Luther in July, 2015,” the government said.
