A man discovered $9,000 of his casino winnings had been stolen from his apartment in the early hours of Sunday.

Police reported that the 46-year-old man had won $16,000 at the Diamond Club Casino at Independence Square the previous day. He returned home around 1:30 a.m. with a remaining balance of $14,500, which he secured in his pants pocket and placed in a basket before going to bed.

Upon waking around 5:15 a.m., the man discovered $9,000 missing. He shares the apartment with his estranged wife and her sons, and he did not give anyone permission to take the money.
