Minister of Defence Wayne Sturge has disclosed that the mobilisation of Defence Force personnel on Friday was a drill to assess the effectiveness and response time of the military.
In response to questions from the Sunday Express yesterday, Sturge confirmed that Defence Force personnel were instructed to stand down after being called out to report to several bases on Friday.
He explained that Friday’s events stemmed from recent joint military training conducted during the five-day visit of the US warship the USS Gravely.
