Prime Minister and UNC political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has dismissed suggestions that taxpayers' money was used to fund the party's Christmas celebrations.
She also dismissed claims her government is engaging in an extravagant manner and being insenstive towards ordinary citizens. She made these comments at a UNC Christmas Supper at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann's on December 18.
"Not one cent of government money has been spent on this Christmas Supper." Persad-Bissessar asked her audience if they knew where the money to fund the supper came from.
