MONSIGNOR Christian Pereira was hospitalised at 4 am on August 25 after complaining of feeling unwell, Newsday learnt.
Reports are that a close relative sent an online message to well-wishers asking for prayers for the retired Roman Catholic priest, who had served as vicar general.
The relative said, "He was having extreme fatigue and persistent shortness of breath, exacerbated by his severe lung ailments."
