A wage dispute between a mechanic and a recently hired employee ended in violence on Wednesday, when the worker reportedly attacked the man with a cutlass before fleeing the scene.
The victim, 40-year-old Makesi St Louis, of School Street, Carenage, was at his auto garage at 1A Beard Street Extension around 12:30 p.m. when he was approached by a man known only as “Marcus,” who had worked with him for two days.
According to police, Marcus, who is believed to be from Scorpion Alley, Carenage, arrived at the garage in a black Toyota Prius to collect payment for his work. Instead, he allegedly told St Louis, “Keep the money,” and suddenly pulled out a cutlass, slashing him across the right wrist.
