Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development, Leroy Baptiste, is assuring that Government is actively working to create more sustainable and decent employment opportunities for citizens across the country.
He made the comment while addressing the Pilot Entrepreneurial Training Programme for the Blind and Visually Impaired on Monday.
“We cannot continue supporting the exploitation of persons with these make-work programmes, where you work for 10 days and then you have to fight up, hope someone calls you again. We are trying to bring about decent jobs. That’s the mandate of the International Labour Organization, which we have embraced as our mandate as a Government.”
