When the Express first featured Tik Tok-er Uncle Kai Lo (Kailash Sookdeo) back in March, he was building a name for himself with his unique food content. Each morning, Uncle Kai Lo posted videos of his breakfast dish, which he enjoyed with his enamel cup filled to the brim with hot coffee and something sweet “on the siiiiiiide,” no matter what was on his main plate.
The 69 year old from Central Trinidad started his TikTok page last year as a way to occupy his retirement days, especially after losing his wife, who lovingly gave him the name Kai Lo. Yesterday, the Mayor of Chaguanas, Faaiq Mohammed, presented the social media uncle with a medal, which said ‘I run Chaguanas’, at his Chaguanas Main Road office.
“I wish my wife was here to see all of this,” Uncle Kai Lo told the Express.
