At 95 years old, Imam Ahamadh Ali Aziz received the Hummingbird Medal (Gold) at Queen’s Hall in St Ann’s yesterday.
A social media post earlier described him as a beacon of light in the Muslim faith.
President of the Dow Village and Esperanza ASJA Masjid Saied Mohamed paid tribute to Aziz, a past president of the Trinidad Muslim League.
